DARKNESS SLIPS AWAY

Pain that consumes
Another part of this day
Pain that cuts like a knife
Into another hour of this strife

How does one do this
Time & time again
And not succumb
To give up, give in

For I go on
Another hour has played out
Knowing that this will pass
For everything passes away
Even pain

Tired of the ripping, tearing
It is from the womb within
A Soul's creative blood
Being drawn from the depths
Out into the light

Light awaits
There it is now
Pain has stopped
Darkness slips away again

Born, renewed
Into this life again
Here, now the strife has ended
Again we see our rebirth

Peace, quiet
Laughter insight & hope
Another day dawns
All is new again
Rediscovering the joy

Pain has gone again
It has shown its way
Slow down, rest, appreciate
Gather strength now

Light has come to this new day
All is reborn inside, outside
Until this time dawns again
Part of the pattern of life
To appreciate, To love, To grow into the light
By being reborn, renewed time & time again
