DISTANT SHORES

Waves crashing upon my shore
From your vantage point
Do you see the same rush of water
So far away from here you are

Yet even with the distance
Somehow you are still so close
Salty sea air reminds me of your scent
For the love between us never fades

Understanding each others separate paths
We know the deeper goals to be attained
Sharing so much more of ourselves throughout
For with one look we know the greater purpose
Of each of our lives

Those moments when we travel
Distance between us is never of spirit
Emotion runs over the longest of expanse
Warmth of the heart even though so far apart

Embracing the total of what we are
Sharing in the flesh so rare
A knowing smile for that it is always the best
Never leaving a doubt that it is utterly inner dimensional
