AN ICY VEIN

So cold
Somehow frozen in time
Your stare can be unnerving
Showing your icy vein

A streak so bold
Your move so calculating
Not in any time do you see
What you have done to me

Icy cold your temperature is
What was once so warm and giving
Now gone
A sad event to perceive

Now an ending
Taking away all that was sweet
Bitter cold replaces that which was once pure
Loves ending always so sad to be immersed in

Does one close the heart off now
Because you froze it
Another one will arrive
Warmth will be restored

Ice melting off
Back to emotional waters
Open flowing and loving
So it shall be now

Forgetting you
Like winter that has passed
So much easier
Suns rays melt away the icy sourness

Opening up again
Appearing a new light
Shining so brightly
Illuminating what was dark & cold for awhile

Ice melts away
Love stays
Blooms appear
Bringing joy to the heart
Now able to see, taste & feel again
